In the fashion world, there are many blogs choosing items and shops selling them. Le Club des Douze is at the crossroads of both: it is a recurring-pop-up store offering carefully curated products twice a month. I would call that fashion “salection” but let’s get in touch with Alexandre Rizos, founder of this creative venture for more info.
Hi Alexandre! You used to work for large corporations out of France: how did you end up launching an online store in our nice country?
Living abroad opened my eyes to a different way of thinking of style and design. I observed the incredible rise of menswear in New York and London and thought that something could be done in France, where we’re only at the beginning. Plus, wherever I’ve worked, my roles were always focused on the internet. I just did the math.
What is Le Club des Douze?
Le club des douze is the first online concept-store that offers “selections” of items, rather than a “catalog” of products. Twice a month, we present a selection of 12 highly curated menswear pieces, available for 12 days only. An aesthetic and minimalistic approach to eCommerce.
What is your business model?
We source the very best of menswear from the finest boutiques, sell it for them and take a commission.
Which technology did you use to build your online store?
A combination of Joomla and Hikashop, which are both very powerful tools.
How do you envisage the future of Le club des douze ?
A lot of tasteful selections, meetings with young designers and, eventually, collaborations.
Any tips for aspiring entrepreneurs willing to take the leap of eCommerce?
Do it with your guts, be real and have fun! When setting up Le club des douze, I only touched base with companies, stores and designers I loved and wanted to work with.
